Didier Drogba ‘wept like a child’ when Jose Mourinho left Chelsea

It's been four years since Jose Mourinho was sacked at Chelsea to begin their manager parade, but the whole affair is being dug up yet again in a new book called Mourinho: Secrets of his Success. Among the revelations is a contradiction to Claude Makelele's claim that John Terry was somehow involved in getting Mourinho booted and Didier Drogba's reaction to the news.

From the Express:

"We [Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba] spoke with the club, and told them clearly that we did not want Jose to go," Terry recalled. "But he already had an agreement in place with the club."

Portuguese defender Paulo Ferreira said: "It is always complicated when a manager leaves a club, but this case was much more so.

"Jose came into the dressing room, gathered us all together and told us he was leaving. Didier was one of the worst affected. He wept like a child."

Drogba added: "There was lots of emotion. It seemed unreal, as though it was a movie.

"We used to see him every day, and we were unprepared for him leaving. It was a real shock."

When Drogba says that it seemed like a movie, I'm curious to know what movie he's referring. Because what sports movie ends with the successful coach bringing his team to new heights and then getting fired for finishing second one season? That would revolutionize the genre in a really depressing way.
