Moratti confirms Rafa's big mouth got him sacked

You don't celebrate achieving something your boss expected you to achieve by publicly demanding he spend more money or talk to your agent. Most people know this. Rafa Benitez apparently does not. And now, Inter owner Massimo Moratti has confirmed that, yeah, Rafa's statement to the press immediately after winning the Club World Cup about how the club had to sign four or five new players in January or talk to his agent was what got him sacked again after just six months that included two trophies. 

From the Independent:

The Inter president said in Gazzetta Dello Sport: "Maybe I was not very satisfied, regardless of the statements (from Benitez), up to the success in the Club World Cup, but then after the statements of the coach I no longer had any desire or patience to get on with it.

"If he had not made those statements would he have remained? I don't know."

And this is a man who just went through two years with Jose Mourinho -- the king of speaking out of turn and saying whatever is on his mind at all times. Of course, Mourinho never went into the winter break sitting seventh in the Serie A table, so maybe the secret here is that you can only get away with saying whatever you want when you're dominating. To most people that's not much of a secret, but, again, this is Rafa.
