Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand will return for Manchester United against Chelsea in the Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday.

Brazilian full-back Rafael, who did not take part in full training on Monday, is the only injury worry for boss Sir Alex Ferguson ahead of the second leg against the Blues on Tuesday as Ferdinand and Rooney both return to the squad for the Old Trafford showdown.

United, who lead 1-0 from the first leg, have the experienced pair back after they missed the 2-0 win over Fulham on Saturday due to suspension and injury respectively, and they are set to slot straight back into the side on Tuesday.

Rafael, however, remains a major doubt as Ferguson noted ahead of the game: "There is a little doubt and it is not something I want to be risking in a major game," he said.

"He really has to do something special tomorrow morning to change my mind about it."

John O'Shea is likely to deputise for Rafael but long-term absentee Darren Fletcher will again miss out.
