Streitberger resumes training after breaking leg (AP)

INNSBRUCK, Austria (AP)—Austrian skier Georg Streitberger has resumed training on skis for the first time since breaking his left shinbone in a World Cup downhill crash in Chamonix, France, in January.

The Austrian ski federation said on Wednesday that Streitberger has completed a practice session on the Hintertuxer glacier without complications.

The 30-year-old Streitberger won a super-G race in Beaver Creek, Colorado, in December and still led the World Cup super-G standings weeks after undergoing surgery.

Streitberger was one of four Austrian skiers to miss February’s world championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, because of injuries following a crash.
